Here is what Author, Sarah Northwood said about this exciting project;
“It was around six months ago that middle grade children’s author, Julia E Clements and I decided to collaborate on a project together. It didn’t take us long to realise that our mutual love of childhood books and all things magical could give us the direction we needed. The result was Unicorns, Mermaids, and Magical Tales. Packed with lovingly crafted enchanting stories and delightful poems, for children aged 8-12 years independently read or younger for bedtime stories to be enjoyed together. Much more than just a chance to relive our own childhood, this collaboration allowed us to use our imagination and passion to write stories with life lessons, the keys to unlock their imagination, and set aside time for the magic of a great story. We hope children and adults will love it as much as we do and treasure the stories for years to come.”
Now for some beautiful excerpts, Firstly from a short story by Sarah, A little bit Magical, featuring characters from her YA Fantasy series The Westwood Witches https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GTN9BMF/ book 1 and https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07X97R29L/ book 2

Now for some poetry

And last but by no means least an excerpt from a short story by Julia, Simon and the Dragon, which links to her middle grade children’s book Dreamland https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dreamland-Julia-Clements-ebook/dp/B075C6WJ8D/

Absolutely gorgeous. Big thank you to Sarah for putting these together. Many of the images in the book were done by Abigail Northwood (14), Sarah’s child. They are currently studying GCSE Art and can be found doodling digital art on various devices or working on a project for school. They are passionate about their hobbies and enjoy Manga and Anime. They are amazingly talented.
My Review ***** 5 stars
100% parent-approved! Kids and adults alike will love this magnificent, magical read. It does exactly what it says on the cover. Packed full of wonderful short stories, poems and illustrations that will delight all who read it. The author’s love of children’s stories and telling them really shines through, written as if spoken through children. They have a real grasp on what children enjoy. A book full of stories that will spark any imagination, sprinkle you with love, hope, calm and a feeling of warmth. Stories that leave you grinning from ear to ear. And what I really love most about this book besides all the fantastical creatures and characters is the morality and life lessons gently and preciously placed within. The fact that the authors have thought about way more than producing a fun, entertaining read is the most magical thing about this book. I simply love it.
The beautifully designed website i mentioned earlier where you can also find out more about their other books and about the authors themselves. Do please check it out. https://magicaltalesbook.wordpress.com/
