A seriously addictive series that will have you laughing, crying, pulling your hair out, gets you hot under the collar and craving more. A rollercoaster of emotions of a series that is totally worth it. This month i chatted to LT Marshall about her character development. But first a blurb to give you a taste.

Blurb EMMA ANDERSON has everything in her life worked out.
She has a perfect job in a Manhattan empire, allowing her to live a quiet, organised and safe existence. A necessity after a childhood filled with abuse, bad memories, and a mother who was less than useless.
She’s worked hard to get where she is – and she has just landed an amazing promotion.
But it comes with a problem – and one that could derail everything she thought she needed in her life.
Emma’s new role is as the right-hand man for billionaire playboy JAKE CARRERO. He’s exactly the type of person who could drive her crazy – and not in a good way.
Chalk and cheese – he is everything she’s not. Compulsive, dominant and confident, with a seriously laid-back attitude to casual sex and dating.
Jake is the only one with the ability to steamroll over Emma’s manicured, ice maiden exterior. But Emma has no desire to let anyone close enough to hurt her again.
Jake needs to show Emma that even someone like him can change when that one girl that matters walks into your life.
Loveable, sexy characters, and deep emotional topics.
Contains some mature, adult content, and language.

My Review ***** 5 Stars Emotional Rollercoaster I have to say I didn’t like Emma in the beginning but having read her story it made sense she needed to be that way. She is so very conflicted but needs to feel in control. Jake try’s his hardest to break her down see the real her he really wants her wants her to be fully open to him. It was nice to see that two very different people from two totally different worlds could fit so well. I wasn’t expecting the end and it actually made me cry I so wanted it to be. The delicate handling of abuse is written tactfully and is well structured. It had my heart pounding at times and I truly felt for Emma on every level especially at the end. A very skilfully written book I am hooked and can’t wait to read them all.
Character convo with LT Marshall
This conversation started with me telling LT that i had started book 5. I am not a particually fast reader and i tend to take up to ten days to read any of her books, i am always late to the Carrero party.
Me…I’ve made a start on book 5 btw I’m getting there, at a snails pace but I am
LT…hahah well are you an Arry fan or hater? we have mixed feelings on that boy in the fan group
M…I wouldn’t say I hate him but he is infuriating
L…LMAO
L…he is but in book 6 he grows up a lot
M…Good he needed a kick up the arse
L….i think he gets better through book 5 though
L…how far have you gotten
M….Only a couple of chapters I always take my time with your books I don’t think you can rush them they need full appreciation and head space to absorb everything
L…there is a lot of brain work at play
a lot of them miss the psychology and then question everything
M…My brain questions everything in life in general so yeah I like to take my time to process it
L…me too. I like to litter tiny hints and breadcrumbs and explain things so the clues are all there
M…See I’m late to the party for a reason you do go quite in depth I wouldn’t necessarily like it in some books but yours warrants it
L…haha its cos its never as simple as it appears
M…No well there is some complicated characters so you can’t be vague it wouldn’t work
L…Exactly. I see people tear down other books for flat characters and illogical behaviour so I try to make mine relatable
M…Yours definitely are not to me so much only on certain levels but there will be people who read them and it will resinate with them
L…I have had emails from people the characters resonate with
such as Sophie who is a character you either love or dislike
M…Sophie is a tricky one but saying that I didn’t like Emma to begin with and well i haven’t even gotten to Camilla and Alexi yet
L…Emma was very closed and stiff so people just thought she was up herself and stuffy until they knew her story
L…Sophie is seen as spoiled and selfish and childish but most miss the very obvious traits she has
M…Yep exactly that she definitely grows on you and she is a brilliant person
M…I wouldn’t say I see Sophie that way she’s come from nothing and struggles emotionally with her own feelings and those of others
L…she does, she is autistic but i never actually make it obvious
i have had so many women on the spectrum email me and say – Sophie is like me
they relate to her and see her flaws as their own
L…so beyond what she went through with her abuse (people on the spectrum are higher risk for abuse) she also has those issues which is why OCD arrick and her gel
M…I agree yeah they are definitely perfect for each other
L…Daniel in books 1-3 has ADHD again i dont make that clear
i never want my characters labelled as anything else
they are just people and they are not defined by what they have
M…Oh really I missed that. Labels are for bottles not people
L…exactly. I put the hints there for anyone who knows personally what they are can relate
to others shes just emotionally scarred or just young
L…I also aim to make all my characters completely different so you do get to know them as people
M…Obviously you see certain aspects as you read the stories but as a whole you see them as a person like you said the ‘labels’ don’t define them. I’m always saying this in my group that anxiety is just part of me it doesn’t define me
L…exactly. I knew before giving each of them certain traits that making it obvious would affect how some readers viewed them so I actively avoided it.
I just treated them as undiagnosed and let them get through life
M…That’s great it’s exactly how I have gone through life, I have never been formally diagnosed with an anxiety disorder I’ve just always known. I don’t need a label because it’s not me I am just me and you take me how I am or you don’t
L…I think a lot of people do. I myself have a ton of issues but i know most people would treat me as those rather than me if i made it overly public
L…so while i support these things i never really make it clear I am one of them
M…Stigma is a very big issue with so many of these things and yes a lot of people can’t see past the ‘label’. This is why in a way I’m grateful for my personality and my heightened emotions because I don’t see those things yes I notice them but I see the whole person not just the anxiety or autism
L…I am the same. I have a lot of patience for people with problems and hate when you see them treated as different because of it
M…For me I treat it as learning as well which I then try to teach my boys because ultimately we are all so different and it’s important to embrace that fact by not alienating them
L…i agree totally. My two kids are autistic so we are trying to teach them how to overcome so many things while embracing it as nothing to be ashamed of
M…It’s absolutely not, variety is the spice of life if we were all the same the world would be boring
L…SO true. I think people still have a lot of learning and accepting to do but we have come a long way in the last decade
M…We still have work to do yeah, but I think by you writing books like yours helps as well that is if people receive them in the right way, like I’d like to think I do not just as some hot men sex wealth etc
L…I get such a mixed reaction to the books. People either really get them and love them, or they miss the point but love the romance anyway or they abhor them and slate them as shallow
L…I love all the aspects I don’t think you could change any of them or leave them out even it wouldn’t work now if you did it differently..they definitely aren’t shallow
L…I see them all as real people
M…From what you have said about having emails from people they most definitely are real people
L…look how passionate the fan group get over them haha
L…and the team wars
L…my favourite emails are the thank yous though. the people who have taken inspiration or strentgh from my characters and used it in their own lives. I had one woman thank me for making it clear her relationship with he rmother was toxic and she had been abused by her mentally for years. Another who told me sophies strength to have a life beyond abuse pushed her to let go of her own scars and be brave enough to go to college
M…I do see that I would say though that I am a more serious fan yes I enjoy the silliness and rivalry but I think that the stories effect more on a different level.
M…That is what it is all about that effect
L…yep. The underlying message in the books is that your past can’t stop you from finding your own happiness
L…I was recently toldby a new reader that they love the fact the women in my books are not saved by men, they in fact save themselves
L…i didnt really notice that before
M…Yes that is true, Jake for example doesn’t save Emma but he helps her to unlock herself
L…I think the same goes for all three women. The real healing and pulling themselves out of hell is a battle only they can fight
M…A quote I read in another book recently, that was actually to do with the war I believe said this and is relevant to your characters is, our past is the counterweight to our future.
L…I love that
